[Thor's fist is going nowhere, because Jormungandr doesn't feel like letting go yet. He isn't smiling anymore, but he's still got a dangerous look on his face. He hasn't completely decided what to do yet.
He could beat Thor within an inch of his life and then leave him alive. Or leave him to die of blood loss. That would be interesting.
Or maybe he could just not injure him any more and let him go. That would be interesting, too.
Both would probably infuriate Thor to no end. And really, that would be the most interesting.
